This year Artbound's goal is to raise $300K to continue to support KISARUNI, as well as break ground on a project in RAJASTHAN, INDIA in 2013
Artbound is a nonprofit volunteer initiative that harnesses the power of the arts in support of Free The Children. We partner with artists and those passionate about the arts to raise needed funds to build sustainable infrastructure in developing countries that help underprivileged children to live better lives and break the cycle of poverty.
100% of all funds raised at The pARTy 2010 went directly to support the building of the Kisaruni School for Girls and and arts centre in Kenya. The school is now fully operational and teaches full curriculum, as well as sustainable skills that empower young women for years to come to live better lives, including:
Grammy Award Winner Nelly Furtado, Principal Dancer Jillian Vanstone from The National Ballet of Canada, and many other artists were part of the team that traveled to the Masai Mara region last February. CTV is planning to air a 1-hour special documentary on Furtado’s experience on the trip.
A PORTION OF THE FUNDS RAISED WILL BE DIRECTED TO SUPPORT FREE THE CHILDREN’S IMMEDIATE RELIEF EFFORTS IN EAST AFRICA, HOME TO MANY VICTIMS OF THE DROUGHT IN SOMALIA.
The Artbound Team is made of a passionate group of people from various industries who believe in creating a positive change in the lives of those less fortunate.
